Because Focus Forward classes are offered in abbreviated scheduling formats, students generally cannot be added to a course after the initial class session. Students may withdraw from the class at any time during the term by contacting the Student Support Center. 100% refunds will be made for those classes dropped at least two business days before the first class period. Students dropping a class after the two-business-days limit will receive no refund.
When Focus Forward classes are filled, a waitlist is maintained. Should space become available during the registration period, students will be notified. The Student Support Center is responsible for maintaining the waitlist.
Every attempt is made to deliver all scheduled Focus Forward classes. When extenuating circumstances occur, such as low enrollments or instructor illness, course cancellations may be necessary. When possible, cancellations are made approximately one week in advance of the beginning of the course and students are notified immediately via e-mail or telephone by Student Support Center staff. A full refund will be issued.
Classroom and building locations are generally provided to students upon registration via a confirmation email from the Student Support Center. Students also can find their class location listed under the online course schedule by clicking here and searching for the course.
The Focus Forward program offers free parking at designated lots. Student registration materials will include detailed information regarding parking. A detailed parking map is available on the DU website at: www.parking.du.edu.
Students who require accommodations due to a documented disability should contact the Disability Services Program (DSP) at 303-871-2372 upon registration or no later than three weeks prior to the beginning of the term. Students should also notify Student Support Center of their needs at the time of registration.
All textbooks and course materials are included in the cost of the Focus Forward program courses.
In order to support the academic integrity of its courses, University College ensures that every class session is held. Therefore, the university will close only in severe weather conditions. All classes that are canceled due to weather will be rescheduled. Notice of closings will be available via local radio and television stations as well as the DU website.
Students are encouraged to visit www.du.edu/emergency to sign up for automated emergency information which, in addition to receiving important emergency-related notifications, also includes notice of snow/weather closures. Emergency whistles are also available through Campus Safety.
Escorts: Campus Safety offers a walking escort for students who do not want to walk on campus alone after dark. Escorts will walk you to and from any location on campus. To request an escort, call 303-871-2334.
