The master’s degree specialty and graduate certificate in Human Capacity in Organizations can be earned entirely online or evenings on campus.
The inclusive organization has ethical human treatment and the recognition that organizations are human based at the core. Building in and developing the capacity of all employees increases organizational effectiveness. Alignment of goals, skills, and vision maximizes success and value of all parts. Partnerships and teamwork within an organization can also add value when well planned and implemented. Objective and subjective decision making models and the ways that values and human factors enter the decision making process are discussed throughout the specialty.
The Human Capacity in Organizations program prepares students to:
• Describe partnerships both vertically and horizontally
• Define the attributes, challenges and advantages of human capital and strategies for leveraging each
• Describe the integration of knowledge management and organizational learning as a concept for integrating personal and organizational success
• Define the opportunities, challenges and options to have employees participate in decision making through the use of various techniques
• Discuss best practices in ethically developing and maintaining human capital
Program Requirements
Total 48 credit hours
Students are required to take MALS 4020 within their first three quarters at University College
Core - 8 qtr. hrs
Professional Foundation Courses - 12 qtr. hrs
Speciality Courses - 16 qtr. hrs
Further Study - 12 qtr. hrs
Admissions Requirements
Candidates for Master's degree programs are evaluated based on the following criteria:
Entrance examinations such as the GRE or GMAT are NOT required.
An earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required.
Applicants must have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in their undergraduate work. Applicants with lower GPAs may be accepted on a provisional basis.
The applicant's professional commitment and written language skills are evaluated through the essay, and the confidential recommendations, both submitted as part of the admissions packet.
