Volunteer Opportunities

OLLI Volunteer Opportunities

As a membership organization, OLLI at the University of Denver functions and thrives because of volunteer support. OLLI relies heavily on the volunteer efforts of members to keep the lifelong learning program running and to bring in new ideas. Members facilitate classes, or act as a class assistant. They serve on the Curriculum Committee to determine upcoming curriculum, or perhaps serve on the Membership or Marketing committees. They may take a leadership role in the organization by serving on the OLLI Advisory Council. They also coordinate special events and help in the OLLI Office. Whatever the task may be, this joint participation makes us an exemplary organization promoting community education and lifelong learning.

What a Volunteer Can Expect

  • Clear and professional communication from your leader.
  • Appreciation for your time and effort.
  • Respect.
  • Necessary training.

Become a "FRIEND OF OLLI"

Our Osher Lifelong Learning Program at the University of Denver has been membership driven since its inception in 1996. We have an endowment from the Osher Foundation, from which interest has been utilized to help expand the program to outlying centers in the metro area. However it is the support received directly from our members that keeps the program operating and serving an ever expanding population.

To assure that we can continue to improve our program, and to begin to establish a fund to eventually have our own dedicated facilities, we have established a Planned Giving Program. Denver University's Office of Gift Planning helps OLLI members and their families, along with their advisors, develop tax wise and financially effective strategies for making gifts for the exclusive benefit of OLLI at DU.

OLLI needs believers like Bernard Osher. The development and delivery of quality educational programs are important for sustaining quality of life and healthy minds for adults who are 50+. If you would like to help fund scholarships, learn more about programming, or assist in our research, please contact OLLI at DU by calling 303-871-3090.
