International Students

Students who are not citizens of the United States and will be attending the University of Denver on an F-1 or J-1 must attend International Student Orientation AND complete Immigration Check-in. Additional information regarding these requirements is available on the University of Denver International Student & Scholar Services website.

Students whose native language is not English and who are required to submit TOEFL/IELTS scores are required to attend the English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA).  Students who do not attend the English Language Assessment must contact the English Language Center to arrange for an assessment in order to be cleared for registration and will incur a $200.00 assessment charge.

Admitted applicants whose native language is not English and who do not possess a regionally accredited bachelor's degree from a U.S. institution or who have not previously completed the University of Denver’s highest level at the English Language Center will be required to attend the University CollegeInternational Preperation Session.
