Android Application Development

This course provides students with the knowledge needed to develop and distribute apps for Android devices. It teaches students how to connect to public APIs, digest the data that is returned, and present that data using a variety of interactive graphical elements. Later lessons will demonstrate mechanisms for storing content offline and synching with an online endpoint. Students will be presented with all the tools they need to create engaging, data-driven mobile experiences and publish them for anyone to use. Students can expect to review weekly tutorials and other online resources and demonstrate what they have learned through increasingly open-ended projects. Prerequisite: ICT 4007 or prior programming experience.
