Transact-SQL Programming

Transact-SQL is the primary programming interface between applications and the Microsoft SQL Server database. Transact-SQL can be sent from programs or applications to the SQL Server database or can be built into reusable database stored procedures. This course focuses on Transact-SQL in a stored procedure context. Topics include: basic and advanced SQL, SQL functions, stored procedure declaration and execution, cursors, temp tables, error handling, transaction management, security, and performance issues. The course uses a combination of lecture, textbook reading assignments, and hands-on lab assignments to meet its objectives. Prerequisites: ICT 4300, ICT 4405.
