ICT 4615 - Computer and Physical Security

Controlling access to computers and controlling access to a building can no longer be viewed as two separate worlds. Today, IT access control and physical security need to be integrated if organizations are to be fully protected from threats. This course concentrates on seeing IT access control as integrated with physical security within an organization. Students investigate how various technologies and methodologies can work together to manage access to computer systems; how to manage elements of physical security; and the issues involved in creating a unified and complete enterprise security system. Security technologies to physically protect an organization's people, facility and resources, access control techniques and administration, identification and authentication techniques and methods of attack are emphasized. Prerequisites: ICT 4300, ICT 4605.
