Michael Lampe
Bio
Michael Lampe has been in the instructional design and educational technology career field for over 10 years. Currently, he works at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as the Program Director of Digital Education and Academic Technology at the School of Dental Medicine. He also runs an e-learning course building and consultation business.
In the past, Lampe has worked as an instructional designer at the CU Anschutz Pharmacy School as well as an Instructional Design Specialist at USC Upstate. His expertise leans on innovative approaches to implementing new technologies such as e-learning authoring tools, virtual reality, and virtual avatars. He is also currently exploring the use of generative artificial intelligence chatbots and the use of active learning strategies in new collaborative spaces in medical education.
Lampe’s experience in the field of instructional technology and learning and development enables him to provide context to the concepts in both fields. For example, he believes that the technology is only as good as the way the weakest user integrates the technology on a regular basis.
