Amanda Rohr

Bio

Amanda Rohr is a researcher and adjunct instructor at the University of Denver specializing in healthcare research methods and mental health. Amanda currently conducts research into pediatric migraines and the use of psychedelic treatments for mental health conditions, and has previously conducted research on the psychology of religion and mental health stigma.

Education

Amanda is a third-generation DU Pioneer, completing her Master of Science in Healthcare Management with a concentration in healthcare policy and regulatory leadership at the University of Denver in 2022. She is currently pursuing a clinical science degree at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to further her pediatric health research interests.

Professional Background

Amanda has years of experience in public health and research. She began her career at a mental health technology start up in project management and best practices research, where she implemented virtual reality technology for mental health treatment into community mental health centers across Colorado. She has worked in several psychology research labs and is an experienced mental health advocate, leading several initiatives at DU and CU focused on student mental health. She is also a fundraiser and volunteer for Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Motivation for Teaching

Amanda loves to help students learn to enjoy research and help their ideas come to fruition. Even though research is not everyone’s favorite thing, she knows the benefit of understanding how to engage with scientific research and how to build strong and ethical projects, and she loves seeing students get excited about finding answers to their burning questions.
