Martin McGovern


Martin McGovern (PhD in Creative Writing and Literature, University of Houston) is a co-founder of the Mile-High MFA in Creative Writing at Regis University, with over 25 years of experience teaching poetry, playwriting and literature. In addition to teaching, he has spent many years building, directing and writing for theaters in both Houston and Denver. Martin’s poetry collection “Bad Fame” was published in 2015 and was named finalist in the Colorado Book Awards. His play "Josef K," produced by Denver's LIDA Project, earned a 2009 Denver Post Ovation Award for Best New Work and featured Franz Kafka as well as a 16-foot welded hamster wheel. In addition to his PhD, Martin also holds an MA in Philosophy from Stanford.
