Bio

Ph.D., University of California at Los Angeles, is an environmental and investment consultant. He began his career as a California Legislature staff member working on the state’s environmental and energy policies. This was followed by work in Europe where he performed environmental and safety risk analyses related to expanding oil and gas exploration and production operations in the North Sea. In 1984, Dr. Hill was appointed Director of Environmental Operations for Aerojet-General, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals and rocket propulsion systems. Subsequently, he was a Senior Vice President at Kaiser Group International where, among other duties, he had executive management responsibilities at a cleanup and closure project for Rocky Flats, a former nuclear weapons facility. Dr. Hill was also an Investment Director for a European venture capital and development firm, where he focused on energy and environmental investments. He has worked on many environmental sites and projects in the United States and abroad and has gained extensive professional experience with environmental statutes and regulations, general management (including reengineering), project management, performance of site investigation, remedial design, and remedial construction activities, architect and engineering services, and construction management, analytical laboratory operations, negotiation of consent decrees, settlements and permits, environmental compliance programs (including ISO 14000), risk assessment and environmental impact evaluations, and environmental data management systems.

Dr. Hill is the academic director and and instructor for University College’s master of environmental policy and management degree and security management programs at the University of Denver. He also teaches in University College’s enrichment program.
