Keeley Hunter (Ph.D. in Communication Studies, University of Denver) has been teaching and studying rhetoric for over nine years. This means that she studies how persuasion works (or fails to work). A rhetorical perspective supplies her with insight into a number of situations like understanding politics in the workplace and being able to critically dissect advertisements. Most of her research revolves around the topic of consumption. Specifically, she critiques how capitalism impacts communication, identity construction, relationships, culture, and narratives. She has researched the secondhand market in Denver and the phenomenon of retail therapy.
