Bio

Jeff Weide is a healthcare, government, and academic leader with over 20 years of experience in leading programs, managing projects, and improving systems. He is the Academic Director and Assistant Teaching Professor for Health Informatics at the University of Denver. He has a broad understanding of the synergies required between stakeholder groups to develop strategies for effective programs.

Professional Background

As the Health Informatics Academic Director and Assistant Teaching Professor, Jeff oversees the curriculum and faculty elements of the HINF program. Before this role, he has filled multiple program and leadership roles, which include the Operations Manager for the COVID Rapid Response Team for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment/Insight Global, Senior Lean Project Manager for Jensen+Partners, Director of Performance Improvement at STRIDE Community Health Center, Senior Lean Facilitator at Denver Health, and Management Analyst for the US Air Force.

Outside of his professional work, Jeff has also served in volunteer roles with numerous organizations including a contributing editor for Forbes Advisor, Fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives, Organizational Affiliate for HIMSS as well as formerly serving as a Board Member of Florence Crittenton Denver, Educational Champion at Colorado Lean Network, and multiple roles with the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Helping Students Be Successful

Jeff has been in a variety of academic roles for over 15 years, having worked in trade, undergraduate, and graduate studies. His areas of instruction have included health informatics, business, project management, computer information systems, and strategy. He has also served as a veteran liaison at previous schools, as well as served as a professional mentor for students. His goal is to help students find the linkages between academics and practical applications within any area of study.
