Patricia Dubrava Keuning
Patricia Dubrava is a writer, poet, and translator who has built a successful career in the literary field. Currently she’s translating frontline stories from Ukraine, some of which have appeared in journals in 2023.
Patricia holds a B.A. in English from the University of Florida and an M.A. in English with an emphasis on Teaching Writing from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Patricia taught at Denver School of the Arts for twenty years, ending her career there as chair of the creative writing program. Prior to that experience, Patricia’s two books of poems were accompanied by many public readings and writing workshops she led. She is also a literary translator whose short fiction translated from Spanish has appeared in numerous journals. She has one book of stories in translation.
Patricia’s own writing projects include a blog of short non-fiction, on which she has posted over 350 essays since 2012. Writing has always been a part of Patricia’s life, as has teaching writing.
Helping Students be Successful
In the six years she’s been teaching writing at University College, Patricia has found the same delight as she always has had in creative writing instruction. She provides thoughtful comments and suggestions on student writing and enjoys participating in the lively discussions writers have online.
