Bio
Marlo Chavarria (Master’s in Economics, University of South Florida) is a transportation economist. For the past 19 years, he has honed his expertise in the transportation industry, focusing on infrastructure financing and economic impact analysis. Chavarria has also served as an online educator, instructing undergraduate economics courses for the last 13 years.
Education
Marlo earned a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of South Florida in 2004 and specialized in transportation economics starting with national research as a graduate research assistant at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR)
Professional Background
Marlo worked as a Transportation Economist/Planner at Tindale-Oliver & Associates (now a part of Benesch) specializing in infrastructure financing studies, economic impact analysis, and roadway revenue and cost forecasting. Marlo has maintained consulting and advising in both transportation and development economics over the last 19 years as a practicing economist.
Motivation for Teaching
Marlo has a passion for serving and supporting his students. His emphasis is empowering students to be critical and analytical thinkers who will be solutions-oriented professionals.
