Ted Rogers
Bio
Ted Rogers is an experienced healthcare executive, compliance and ethics professional, as well as educator and advocate. Throughout his career, Ted has merged his legal education and experience with his clinical knowledge and executive nursing practice to promote effective healthcare leadership. He has an extensive understanding of the legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks of healthcare operations, leadership as well as patient safety.
Currently, Ted serves as the Chief Nursing Officer of a large psychiatric hospital. In this role, Ted leads Nursing Services and a team of nearly 600 individuals. Ted’s responsibilities revolve around all aspects of providing safe and effective nursing care in a complex and fast-paced legal and regulatory clinical environment.
Education
Ted earned a Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Western Carolina University.
Professional Background
Ted’s experience also includes serving for many years as a Director of Risk Management for Kindred Healthcare. During this time, Ted supported ethical healthcare operations and regulatory compliance, managed malpractice claims and insurance funding as well as promoted systems and initiatives to improve health care safety and quality.
Motivation for Teaching
Ted strongly believes that safe and high-quality healthcare begins with effective healthcare leadership. His legal, clinical and leadership experience has sharpened his skills in bringing teams together to improve healthcare systems. Ted has a passion for using his experience and education to develop the next generation of healthcare leaders.
