Lee G. Marana

Bio

Lee Marana currently serves as Health IT Content Director at Informa Markets, HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, along with serving on the HIMSS Michigan Chapter Executive Board. In 2023, he was appointed to Michigan’s Health Information Technology Commission by Governor Gretchen Whitmer for a term expiring in August 2026, representing the health information technology field.

Lee has previously held roles as a Manager of HIE & Informatics at a Health Information Exchange in Michigan and as an IT Security Officer at a Health Plan. He is also currently a board member of the HIMSS Michigan Chapter, Michigan Healthcare Cybersecurity Council (MiHCC), Michigan Tech’s Health Informatics Advisory Board (HIAB), HIMSS Global Interoperability & HIE Committee, and is highly involved as an industry partner with the U.P. Cybersecurity Institute & Talent Consortium.

Lee is passionate about Health Information Technology (HIT), including the security and interoperability of data to improve healthcare outcomes, costs, care coordination, accuracy, and efficiency. He holds a BSBA and an MBA from Michigan Technological University.
