In this series, we talk to our amazing advising team, to get to know them better and learn about how they can help students! Today, we meet Jessica Rayman, academic advisor.
Let us know a little about yourself:
I was born and raised in Louisville, Colorado. After graduating high school, I went on to play college softball at Colorado Mesa University . Concluding my college career, I spent 10 years coaching softball at the college level, as well as helping my student-athletes to reach their career goals. I enjoy being outside and anything that has to do with the mountains. I have a 7-year-old chihuahua mix pups.
What programs do you advise for?
Information and Communication Technology.
What can a student gain from meeting with you?
Ideas and suggestions about the program, as well as assistance with course selection and planning.
How often do you suggest a student meet with you?
Before each quarter or every other quarter.
Best advice for students on how to navigate the education/work-life balance?
Time management is going to be important as you go through the program. Setting a schedule to make sure your course work is getting done, but still being able to find time for yourself and things you enjoy!
