Cathie Wilson

Bio

Cathie Wilson is a leader in the IT industry with a background in database management, implementation and analysis. In addition to her technical background, she has been actively involved in advancing women in technology through her involvement with Women in Technology International (WITI), and Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS).

Cathie Wilson is currently the academic director for the Information and Communication Technology program at The University of Denver, University College. Prior to transitioning to academia, Cathie was an Oracle Database Administrator. She has more than 15 years of IT consulting experience, including 10 years of providing Oracle solutions to clients across various industries. During her career, she focused on several aspects of database management, including OLTP systems, data warehousing, data mining and database design and modeling.

Cathie is passionate about database technologies and the intersection of IT and academics. An area of focus for her is seeking new ways to deliver an exceptional student experience in an online asynchronous environment. She is a firm believer that the light bulb moment can be accomplished in every modality, and in every class. Cathie has a deep commitment to student accessibility and success in the classroom.

Education

Cathie earned an M.S. in Computer Information Technology from Regis University.
