Bio

Christopher L. Elg retired after a 35-year career in law enforcement. His last position was the Chief of Police in Tequesta, Florida which is located in Palm Beach County. Prior to moving to Florida, Christopher served as a Chief of Police in Washington, New Jersey, Michigan and Louisiana. He began his career as a New York State Trooper. Christopher also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for 31 years retiring in 2020. His last assignment was a three-year active duty detail in Washington, DC as a Special Agent with the Coast Guard Investigative Service. He served on the Coast Guard Commandant’s Protective Service Detail and had the opportunity to travel to 26 countries during that time.

Christopher has been teaching both graduate and undergraduate classes since 2009 in the following program areas: Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, Leadership, Fire Science and Emergency Management.

Christopher strives to present a learning environment that allows students to thrive and gain an extensive amount of knowledge in the limited time spent together in the classroom. His diverse public safety and military background allows him to readily connect with his students which helps them get one step closer to reaching their goals in life.

Education

Christopher earned a MPA from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a MAS from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
