Mark Cicotello

Bio

Mark Cicotello is an experienced Human Resources professional with deep real-world experience in each of the HR disciplines and the employee life cycle. He has worked in the high tech, medical, and consulting industries and for large and small employers. He has strong expertise in compensation and international HR. With multiple HR certifications (SHRM-SCP, GPHR, SPHR, CCP, CECP) he has a strong foundation in HR’s past, current and future role with an organization.

Education

Mark earned his B.A. in psychology from Slippery Rock University and an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado. 

Perspective on Human Resources

Mark believes HR professionals are uniquely positioned to influence both the operations of an organization as well the culture. The key to this influence is obtaining an understanding of the financial aspect of an organization. By doing so, HR professionals can architect and develop structures to meet the organization’s goal.

Motivation for Teaching

Mark loves to share his expertise and stories (the triumphs and the not-so-successful experiences) with his class. His approachable and authentic teaching style creates a warm learning environment. He takes complex material and presents it with rigor without rigidity, depth without confusion, and makes it useful today and throughout a career.
