Andrew Sellon
Bio
Andrew has been an actor and writer for 50 years and brings that long history of professional experience and depth of knowledge to every course he teaches in the Creative Writing program. While he has been performing onstage since he was 14, he is probably best known these days as Mr. Penn/The Ventriloquist/Scarface in Warner Brothers’ long-running Batman prequel drama TV series, Gotham. Recent stage credits around the country include Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express and Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet. Andrew’s deep understanding of language and the physical realities of what works onstage informs all his teaching and coaching. He has just completed a series of developmental readings for a new play in blank verse as well as a short film screenplay. He is currently finishing a book, music, and lyrics for a new musical, and is working with an editor at a well-known NY publishing house on completing his first novel.
Education
Andrew earned an MFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA cum laude from Harvard University.
