Loni Peterson
Bio
Loni Peterson, MLS, CWIP is a long-time event planner and producer in the non-profit, experiential, and special event sectors. She has a deep understanding of trends, logistics planning, strategy and risk mitigation to make each event as seamless as possible.
Education
Loni earned her B.A. in Art History and minor in Painting from the University of Houston and her Master of Liberal Studies in Arts Development and Program Management from the University of Denver.
Professional Background
Loni currently owns her wedding and event planning company LP Creative Events, where she oversees multiple events per year and a staff of 12. She also consults with a variety of non-profits throughout the year to help them plan and execute their net event while hitting revenue goals. She is also a member of the International WIPA Executive Board and serves as the Secretary.
Motivation for Teaching
Loni has a passion for nonprofit event planning and strategy and seeks to develop the next generation of successful event-planning professionals. Her time in the nonprofit event planning field has led to amazing opportunities and real-life experiences which she hopes to pass to upcoming students.
Helping Students be Successful
Loni teaches her students the latest event-planning strategies and techniques with real-life examples and hands-on exercises. She is readily available via email and virtual office hours to answer questions, provide guidance and offer insights from the nonprofit communications world.
