Bill Balsam is a trusted data and financial professional with over 10 years of experience within the field of health informatics. Throughout his career, he has supported small federally qualified health centers, health insurance industries and accountable care organizations. Bill is well-versed in healthcare database applications and data mining with tools like SQL, SAS and Python.

Bill found interest in teaching at DU when he realized the increasing number of new graduates within his organization who were struggling to learn valuable skills to mine data. Bill finds great fulfillment in supporting students within the academic environment by providing students with a strong understanding of data mining in the healthcare environment so they can help increase healthcare outcomes.

Bill earned a BS in Health Administration from University of Central Florida, and a MS in Health Informatics from University of Illinois at Chicago
