Catherine Murensky

Bio

Cathie is the Principal of InnoVision, International. She is an I/O psychologist with expertise in leadership and organization development, learning and talent management as both an external consultant and an internal practitioner. Her consulting expertise spans both private and public sectors working with diverse individuals, teams and organizations.

Professional Background

Cathie has held Director roles in Learning and Leadership Development. In that capacity, she has built and managed organization and leadership development functions as well as learning and development teams that included training. Cathie has worked internally for a global energy company where she was the lead consultant for the human capital function. In this role, she partnered with senior stakeholders to assess their needs and then designed tailored development solutions. She was also the lead for the global transition team for one of the world’s biggest mergers. Cathie has also spent several years as a human capital consultant with the HayGroup. Her consulting experience includes the development of competency models, full life-cycle leadership development programs that include immersion/onboarding, high-potential development and succession planning as well as Organization Development and Change Management processes.

She has contributed her leadership and expertise for various companies that include Mobil Oil, Rolls-Royce N.A., CASE Latin America, Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), U.S. Air Force (USAF), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), MolsonCoors, Seagram, Volvo, as well as profit and non-profit Boards.

Education

Cathie holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University, an M.A. in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from East Carolina University and a B.A. in Psychology from East Carolina University.

Motivation for Teaching

Cathie uses her diverse experience both internal to organizations and external as a consultant to develop practical applications for the topics in her courses. She enjoys learning about her students’ experiences and interests to shape class discussions in a way that brings the topics to life. These are practical examples of “what works and what does not.” Students’ ability to assess organizations from strategic and applied perspectives is her most valued outcome.
