Kim Hosler
Bio
Kim Hosler is a long-time learning and development leader with over 25 years’ experience in learning leadership roles both in the corporate sector and in higher education. She is passionate about developing effective and engaging learning and professional development initiatives that align with an organization’s business needs, vision and mission.
Education
Kim earned her Bachelor of Arts in French from Bethany College, and her Master of Education (M.Ed) from Kent State. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Technology from the University of Northern Colorado.
Professional Background
Recently Kim retired from the U.S. Air Force Academy, where she led course and curriculum development as their Director of Instructional Design. Prior to moving into higher education, Kim held various learning and development management positions across several different businesses, including software, telecommunications and financial services.
In her various training and professional development roles, Kim collaborated with trainers, college faculty, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify, design, implement, and assess learning and development initiatives based on organizational needs. These initiatives included 1-2 hour in-person workshops, full-day and multi-day courses, and the development of online learning modules.
Motivation for Teaching
Kim demonstrates her commitment to high-quality teaching by providing detailed feedback to her students to support their success. She enjoys working with adult learners and helping them advance in their careers through continuing education. Her background in both corporate and higher education has given her a strong appreciation for effective instructional design and the creation of competent learning and development teams that support a learning organization.
