Dana Reynolds
Bio
Dana Reynolds has over 25 years of experience in homeland security, emergency management, and law enforcement. He most recently served as Response Division Director for FEMA Region 9, based out of Oakland, CA. Prior to that he served several years with FEMA Region 8, Denver, as Team Lead for the region’s Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT).
Prior to joining FEMA, Dana served with the Colorado Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (DHSEM) from 2011-2016, which included assignments as State Director of the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and former Director of the Office of Preparedness. He also served 11 years with the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) as a sworn officer. His last assignment with CSP was as Captain of the Homeland Security Section and Director of the Colorado Information Analysis Center (CIAC), the state fusion center.
Dana previously served as a Senior Lecturer in the Homeland Security Certificate Program at the Korbel School of International Studies, as well as adjunct faculty in the Department of Sociology & Criminology at DU. Dana serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Emergency Management Association (CEMA) and is past President of the Denver InfraGard Chapter, an FBI-sponsored 501(c)3 devoted to critical infrastructure protection.
Education
Dana earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Regis University and a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Colorado at Denver. He also attended the Executive Leadership Program (ELP) at the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense & Security, along with the Leadership in Crisis Program at the Harvard Kennedy School.
