Frank Turina

Bio

Frank spent more than 15 years working for the National Park Service Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division helping to provide park visitors with opportunities to experience the sounds of nature and the vastness and beauty of the night sky. He also helped protect wildlife and other natural and cultural resources from the effects of noise and light pollution. Frank earned a Ph.D in Environmental Policy from the University of Colorado

Motivation for Teaching

Throughout his 30 year career, Frank has worked in a number of professional settings including environmental consulting firms, law firms, and government agencies. He has worked on a variety of environmental issues including hazardous waste management and remediation (CERCLA and RCRA), environmental litigation support, socioeconomic and environmental justice analyses, NEPA compliance, sustainable development, and natural resource management. Frank has a passion for environmental protection and public policy, and a desire to share his experience with the next generation of environmental professionals.

Helping Students Be Successful

Frank earned his MEPM from University College in the class of 1993 and understands the challenges of earning an advanced degree while working full-time. He has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level course for more than 8 and years can help clarify environmental concepts and principles by drawing on a wealth of professional experience and education.
