Leonard Dixon

Bio

Leonard R. Dixon has over 22 years of hands-on technical experience as well as management experience, consulting for companies such as Walt Disney, HBOMax, Apple TV+, D.C. Comics and BlueShield of California. Additionally, as a tech entrepreneur and certified AI strategist, he is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business with a research focus in Applied AI and Entrepreneurship.

Leonard’s passion for inspiring and developing the next generation of technology professionals and business leaders stems from his experiences at Morgan State University. His professors challenged him to channel his potential into success, a lesson he now imparts as a professor at the University of Denver. Leonard’s aim is to offer the same guidance and inspiration he received, helping his students realize and utilize their potential.

In the classroom, Leonard combines real-world experience with guest speakers and hands-on exercises. He maintains an open line of communication through email and virtual office hours, ready to provide insights from the technology and management sectors. Beyond the classroom, Leonard sees himself not just as a teacher but as a lifelong mentor and resource. He is always available to his students, even after their formal education ends.

Leonard earned a BS in Information System from Morgan State University, an MS in Database Technologies from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
