Mia Marzullo
Bio
Mia Marzullo is a Risk and Resiliency practitioner and is certified as a Master Business Continuity Planner (MBCP) specializing in technical business recovery, life safety and Business Continuity Management leadership. Her 20+ years of expertise include Enterprise Risk and Resiliency Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery program development and steady-state management. Mia has worked in various private sector industries including Real Estate Technology, Technical Consulting, Media and Broadcasting and most recently in large Financial and Insurance institutions.
Education
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of North Texas’ Emergency Administration and Disaster Planning program and graduated from Boston University with an MS in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management. She is a Fellow Honors graduate of the Emergency Management Academy as well as a member of the Order of the Sword and Shield Honor Society.
Teaching Philosophy
Her passions include teaching Environmental Studies at DU, coaching home-based and entrepreneurial professionals, supporting endeavors to aid deployed troops around the world, and furthering the advancement of professionals and adult students, like her, who live with high-functioning Asperger’s. She accomplishes this by tuning in to each student’s superpower and encouraging them to use it as out-of-the-box thinking in their studies and career pursuits.
