We asked graduates to share their journey to graduation. Here is what Ashley Ramirez Scott (Strategic Human Resources) had to say in her own words…
My family and I will be traveling to Denver from Texas for graduation, and we are SO excited. During my 14 months at DU, I have thoroughly enjoyed taking classes through University College. During these 14 months, I have had to push myself continuously and remember what the end goal was. In late August/ early September, our area endured Hurricane Harvey, and my family was displaced for over five days, returning home to no electricity or running water. Receiving a phone call during this time to check in from my Academic Director, Pat Greer was so heartwarming. As well, I have strived to show my four children that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible. My children have witnessed many of my late nights working on assignments, especially my 4 1/2 year old who pulls up her chair to sit next to me as I type away. Maintaining my most important roles – mother and wife – professional position as Niche Lead and Multimedia Sales Consultant for the Victoria Advocate, couldn’t be done without the never-ending support of my husband.
Congratulations, Ashley!
